Human Rights:
UN_Declaration_of_Human_Rights is a the site to see if your human rights are being violated, as is UN_High_Commissioner_for_Human_Rights, UN_Agreements_On_Human_Rights and UN_International_Law. If your government or foreign/local corporations are causing you undue pain or loss, see UN to find out if your human rights are being violated and what you can do to get help from them. Native Americans have received help through the UN in land issues, for example. Land law falls under the category of 'human rights', so if your land is being taken away for ANY reason, please appeal this case through human rights lawyers. Although the UN cannot help in petty disputes, it is a good idea to register a complaint with the UN if your rights have been violated, and then get help through Human Rights organizations that can help you individually. Some of them are listed below.
I would also like to add that Yahoo and Google in various countries are very good about listing organizations that work on human rights issues. See Yahoo or Google in the country where the business or military problem is coming from. Go to the society section >issues section >human rights links. This may or may not be helpful... I do suggest utilizing the network of international lawyers and the UN, as listed here.
It also bears in mind mentioning that democracy as a form of government can help you and your descendants avoid human rights abuses in the future. Contact the UN human rights office about how to start democracy in your country.
